13The party had earned a long rest after dealing with the Frost Barrier overlooking the southwestern part of the island. But with Bell going to save his sister, the party set off to meet up with him in order to assist. Tensions were high as Bell was heavily determined to save his sister more than anything else, but with another communication via Sending, the party learns that Mi'itrik and Dart have somehow become champions of the Frost Giant's arena and are now being treated more like Royalty than like captured slaves.
Still determined to retrieve her, the party continues northwest to a ruined town that seems to be under the influence of another frost barrier as the weather had returned to the cold and dreary winter the party had been dealing with up until now.
Finding shelter, some time was taken for the party to share more about other events happening around them. Skylert shares what his father had written to him about a possible slave trade operation going on in Zidoria, specifically involving what could be the Rose Thorn family. Esteem reveals his true colors as a demon gifting power to Ren for mere entertainment as Ren fights to save his home and intends to abide by his contract, which promises to put Ren to death once more as soon as Wintervale is saved. On top of it all, as tensions continued to grow, a new gate had opened nearby, forcing the party's rest to be cut short as they made their way to a mountainous cavern filled with more grunts of the Umbra Clan.
Having fought their way through, a darkened image of a large being can be seen waiting for them at the end of a long hallway, seemingly dug out of the ground, and an open gate at the very end.
