Crushing Envys at Rabbit Flats in Thousand Oaks using The Method.
I’m down in Southern California, and despite the pouring rain the last few days, we had a moment of warmth and sunshine. So I went out to Rabbit Flats in Thousand Oaks this afternoon, to see how far I can get an Envy to go with my current biomechanics and a slow, walking X-step.
Despite the fact I was planting on a wet, spongey, swampy surface, I was still able to get most of the leverage I’m getting into the net at home. Based on how the swings felt, I estimate the throws were around 80% of total power.
This video shows the farthest I threw an Envy today using the biomechanics I’ve learned from The Method. I did my best using Google Earth to measure the throw, since I didn’t have clear line of sight for a range finder. The distance from the edge of the infield to the edge of the creek, according to Google Earth, is about 390 feet, give or take. Not a bad estimate in the video!
More to come tomorrow, going to do some filming in the same spot!
