Crystalis (GBC) - Part 7: So Joss Whedon, George R.R. Martin, and Steven Moffat Walk Into Shyron...
Nathaniel plays and talks his way through Crystalis for the Game Boy Color, which is a remake of the NES cult classic RPG. Part 7 of 10.
Jack, the guy we've been following around this whole time, arrives at the village of Shyron. Don't get too attached; everyone dies at the end. Jack has a chat with the Wise Men and learns about the Sword of Thunder, then abandons the town in their time of need to pick up a new shiny. Following the requisite amount of dungeon crawling to acquire the sword, he returns to Shyron to find...oh, wait; they're still alive.
The Wise Men send Jack on an errand to Goa, where he works out a plan with Kensu to infiltrate the forest. I mean, fortress. Why did I write "forest"? Suddenly, Jack receives an urgent message from Zebu: Shyron is under attack! Jack takes this opportunity to stay overnight at an inn, do some shopping, and OH RIGHT. UNDER ATTACK. Everyone's dead by the time he gets there. Oh, well; back to Goa.
Jack picks up the Warrior Ring before remembering he should probably go avenge his friends or something. A quick hop back to Shyron puts him face-to-weird-mask-thing with Mado, who has aspirations of Armored Armadillo. They fight, Mado retreats, and Jack picks up the Ball of Thunder he so carelessly leaves behind.
...Unless it's a trap. Very clever, Mado.
Jack takes his sweet time going back to the cave in the desert, where he can now tear down an iron wall who's the second cousin of Olmec from Legends of the Hidden Temple. This will make more sense when you see it. Jack returns to remove the other wall-cousin in the Goa fortress, does a little bit of wandering around, and then accepts an invitation to a grudge match with General Kelbesque, who is felled by a strong wind.
