Cuphead Without Moving S Ranks with Barely Alec's Rules
7I always love watching @BarelyAlec because of his Cuphead and Plants vs Zombies challenge run videos and streams, especially Whetstone Only without dashing and only 3 plants on the lawn at a time, but one thing I never realized before was that he also did a Cuphead no moving video, I've discovered it after watching Chicken's no moving video and I've even beaten Grim on Regular with Chicken's rules because Chicken did it on Expert... and I definitely see why he did on Expert because on Regular he was a nightmare... I tried to S Rank bosses with Chicken's no moving rules before... and sadly it wasn't as much of a success as I hoped because only the Root Pack is possible with Chicken's rules so I've decided to try and S Rank bosses with Alec's rules to see how many bosses were S Rankable, I initially thought not many, after all you are literally unable to move your character but I then discovered there a lot more bosses that were S Rankable than I thought... either way give my favorite crab and chicken a sub!
Root Pack it was definitely harder to S Rank with his rules than Chicken's because being unable to aim was really bad because Crackshot/Chaser wouldn't target the carrots above you so I had to find a way to kill the carrots above me, and that was thanks to the Chaser EX, but even then it was still tough.
Goopy I initially thought was impossible mainly because of final Phase, Phases 1 and 2 are RNG but final Phase was the reason why I thought it was impossible until I discovered an extremely stupid way to dodge his slam attack... with a well timed double jump and a EX can dodge it but it has to be really precise, a double jump alone, along with the addition of a dash could dodge it too but EX's were more consistent even if limited so I had to use the EX's carefully for final Phase if I wanted the S Rank.
Cagney was... very easy, I don't have much to say about him, same for Ribby and Croaks.
Baroness was really tough, literally needed good RNG for her because if you get jawbreaker it's an automatic restart and candy corn is also really bad, best ones are what I gotten imo, just hope gumballs don't land on you and waffle doesn't be in a bad spot.
Beppi... was insane. Literally needed good RNG in all the Phases and even if RNG is good you have to be careful about your time and not take too long, I had a run that was too long so I had to redo him, he was definitely extremely tough.
Rumor was extremely easy but I think it's mainly because on Expert she does one wand attack unlike on Regular where she does two.
Brinybeard was tough at first but after I swapped Chalice for heart ring he was easy, just have to hope he doesn't spawn dogfishes.
Werner was just RNG with needing him to do both catapult and cannon attack in Phase 1 to prevent him from charging to the side you are on, he wasn't too bad.
Phantom Express was extremely easy... nothing I want to say about them.
I was debating on whether King Dice was possible but I was so theoretically sure he was possible and of course he was possible, hearts had to be on Tipsy Troop, Pip and Dot and Mangosteen and I wanted at least two of them to have the hearts but luckily on that attempt the heart was on all three of them, Tipsy Troop and Pip and Dot are possible hitless but I got unlucky with them, Mangosteen I was also very unlucky on, and I have to be very careful on King Dice because if I'm too close to the right side I can't hit him with Crackshot so I have to really time my parries because one wrong parry dash and it's a restart, not to mention constant restarts for hearts on the mini bosses I need so King Dice has a lot of RNG in his fight.
Aces was also RNG with the positioning of the plane and what attacks are going to be done, but they weren't very tough despite being a DLC boss.
Unfortunately these are the only bosses I think are possible, obviously Hilda, Djimmi, Wally, Kahl, Cala and Esther are impossible because they're plane bosses, you literally need two player to even beat them so forget S Ranking the, Chef Saltbaker is also another one to obviously be forgotten because he requires two player aswell.
Grim I don't see possible with the parries and even if I somehow get them I also tried doing his fight with allowing moving in Phase 1 while staying still for Phases 2 and 3 are it was over 2:09 so a legit fight is probably going to be over the time limit, Sally also suffers a similar fate as Grim, forget Devil with the chips, Glumstone, Moonshine Mob, and Mortimer Freeze I also don't see possible either, maybe I'm missing something in any of these bosses but in theory I don't see them possible and overall I don't think they're possible if I'm being honest.
Honorable mentions to Justo and Sample too for inspiring me to Cuphead in the first place and inspiring me to try and S Rank bosses without jumping! Give them a sub aswell!
