This is the last commercial title we're making a game sample about for the 32X besides the upcoming Tempo, which marks the end of gameplay samples of over two dozen 32X games we own. We may opt to playthrough a few, but this is it otherwise. There are less than a handful of 32X games we don't own, and none of them are particularly worthwhile, so I'm in no hurry to get them.

Anybody remember my Cosmic Carnage video? Probably not, as only a few have watched it (face it, 32X is faaaaar from popular or mainstream). Well, in that video, I stated that there was a neat code that could be performed in the game. Well, it's the unusual ability to play the Japanese version of Cosmic Carnage, Cyber Brawl. It's actually more like the "uncensored" version than the Japanese version, as the game (while released with the name Cyber Brawl in Japan) is done with English... good English I might add. Not only that, but this game came out in the U.S. before it did in Japan presumably.

So, how do you get to play the Japanese version of Cosmic Carnage on a U.S./NTSC system? It's actually quite simple. Before you turn on your system, hold down the X,B & Z buttons and then turn the system on while still holding the buttons. When you get to the introduction, hit start (while still holding the buttons) and you're now playing Cyber Brawl. If you reset the system, you'll be playing Cosmic Carnage again.

What's the difference you may ask? Human characters. Due to the violence of the game (cutting a characters arm off, cutting their head off, or splitting them in half) and men and women getting their armor blown off to wearing nothing more than simple undergarments and sleepwear, Sega probably thought it would have been too much competition for Mortal Kombat (Sega at the time was already notorious for having more violence in their games on their systems than much of the competition), but they made an oversight; While they changed the humans to aliens, their blood was still red. Oops.

Anyway, the characters are done in a more anime style. I'd still get Cyber Brawl for the packaging (because I'm a collector and gamer) but you really don't have to otherwise. Enjoy.
