Cyberpunk 2077 devs blast games media

Cyberpunk 2077 and a bit of crunch discourse crept up on main this week when CD Projekt Red shared a tweet about this year’s most anticipated game passing cert. Friend of the show and known games reporter, Jason Schrier, shared their excitement but with a bit of a pointed comment about crunch faced by the developers on the game.
Some fans got upset that CD Projekt Red wasn’t allowed to celebrate this momentous occasion without being scolded and chided for their extreme working conditions. Now it seems some Cyberpunk 2077 devs are speaking up in their own defense.
Of course, all of this comes after a story from last week that CD Projekt Red publicly announced they would be going back on their previous statements against crunch and doubled down on crunching to finish Cyberpunk 2077 in time for its November release date. We’re jumping into all of that and more on this week's edition of the Inside Gaming Weekend Roundup!
In addition to the Cyberpunk story; the basic development of Final Fantasy 16 is already complete, Rambo is going to be in Mortal Kombat 11, it looks like next-gen console buyers are favoring the PS5, and we pour one out for those who were recently laid off at Gamespot.
Stick around for Brian’s 5-Second review of Genshin Impact and a list of all the new video games releasing next week! Have a great weekend everyone!
