This was actually a request from a friend of mine to learn. He's a big AVGN fan and apparently the Amiga version was featured in a video. Maybe I'll try the Amiga version one day if I can find an emulator to run it.

This is almost objectively one of the worst fighting games ever created. There is so little redeeming about it, beyond just being utterly hilarious. It's a pretty difficult speedrun on hard because the game system is so broken, and if you lose twice to any character, you get sent to the title screen. Most of the super moves are awful, impossible to do, or requires situations that are close to frame perfect.

The DOS version is supposed to be the "superior" version graphically, and the AI is supposed to be "better", but it's clear that the graphics and AI came at the cost of the games sound. You get to choose between sound effects or the game's terrible, but annoying catchy music. Choose the music! The SFX is worse. Some care was taken to get as close to a real DOS experience as possible. On a machine from 1994, the game runs oppressively slow. So slow it's not fun, so I decided to shoot for 97-99 with my DOSBOX settings. 20k cycles seems to be the magic number. This seems to be close to the Amiga performance in terms of speed as well.

AND WHAT THE HECK ARE THESE CHARACTERS?! The Fonze, an Italian(?) stereotype who might be a robot, a magician, a really lame super hero, some sort of troll, a blatant nightwolf ripoff, and two personality-less female characters who are clearly only included for a rather boring and eyerolling attempt at mid 90s sex appeal.

Unfortunately, the Gym Teacher character happens to have the only normal with decent reach, forward movement, and speed. Due to this, there are a few characters you can hitstun lock pretty easily with her, and you can actually get a hit in when the AI decides it wants to do 30 consecutive blocks on hard.

Nearly every design decision from graphics to system is questionable. The function of buttons change depending on what direction you are facing. There seems to be two hitboxes, one that does partial damage when hit and one that does full. Blocking is button based, but also has a few frames of cool down.

So to sum it up, I love it! It's a really fun and hilarious speedrun.
