Dark Destiny is a King's Field fangame by DMPDesign made in the Sword of Moonlight editor. The game follows the story of Dias Bagil, the man who would go on to become KF1US's Necron, as he seeks to unlock the darkness hidden deep inside him.

If you'd like to play this game, the full installer can be found here:

Exploration of the West Coast finally! Before I was only here for fire magic.

To start, check out that path going to the north right as you enter. It leads to where the construction of King Harvine III's new castle is beginning...complete with giant snails! They have attacks that can poison & paralyze, but if you get to their sides, they're pretty easy prey to kill.

You'll also notice an old man outside of where the construction is beginning. He makes mention of not being able to find some kind of "passage". There is a hidden wall to find in the room with a locked chest & two snails, but I didn't notice this until some off screen searching for secrets. It's a significant enough hidden wall that I will be back here on my next recording session to check it out.

For now, back to the bridge you crossed to fall down it and check out what's inside the waterfall. It's just like the area from KF1US, complete with a Long Sword just lying in the water for the taking as well as a slot for a key we don't have yet.

Get out of this cave and go claim the Crystal to the west before crossing a bridge to the south, then keep an eye to the east. You'll see the famed cave from KF1US that was guarded by a gigantic Kraken...but before that time, was occupied by Scorpions. Nothing super threatening thankfully (poison chance on their attacks though).

Inside the cave is more enemies, but also some Plate Arm Guards on a dead body and an Earth Herb in a barrel...plus another locked chest we can't do a damned thing about.

That's all for this cave so back outside to continue south to that bridge we crossed to reach the lighthouse. Go across it again, but this time kill those jellyfish in the way. Once you're across, take the path in the water going north. It'll lead to a small island with some scorpions & a Breast Plate.

Next, head south of the lighthouse on the path in the water there. You'll end up close to Jose, that guy who lost his lucky lure. Feel free to talk to him if you want, but now...choices!

There's two areas to go explore at this point, a cave to the south of Jose or back north, then east into the cave you came in to from the barracks to go down a path leading deeper into this area. Both end up at a certain point, but due to something you have to do, it would have been better to not do the next cave I explore after talking to Jose first to make things quicker.

In any case, I explore the southern cave first. The first room has a pool with some jellyfish in it as well as some random enemies scattered around it with a Moon Stone lying on the floor in the northeast. You can then head southeast past some dingbat vines to a locked door outside. Your Pirate's Key will unlock the door, granting you access to yet another cave, complete with a "Leave now or die" message.

Sure enough, the first door you enter after seeing that message gives you a warm greeting in the form of swinging scythe traps. Hug the western wall and you'll be fine. Keep sticking to it and you'll find a dead end with a lovely message and a locked chest. Use your Pirate's Key on it to get some fine Knight Plate Arm Guards, then take the path leading east out of the cave while hitting a switch that shuts off these traps en route.

Outside, you'll see a boat. Perhaps this is the one James spoke of? Regardless, there's something you can do here...but you need an item from the boat and, well, I can't make the jump from here to the boat so I'll have to get to it another way.

What I can do is go north to a chest for Sagittarius, a new weapon. Heavier than the Commander's Blade, but also more powerful.

Back to that other route I said I could take. Through a door there is a save point which I take advantage of.

More next time!
