Dark Souls 1: Part 01: My first Souls game ever.
1We're now 2022. The world is having their hands full with Elden Ring.
Meanwhile, I still haven't played a single From Software title yet.
I got Dark Souls 1 on a discount, a few years ago.
Never was able to play it though, since I want to go with keyboard and mouse.
Couldn't get past the first room, due to running into the wall like a drunk, whilst fighting the camera.
So I tried again some time later, same thing.
Then decided to give the controller a try.
And yep, that works.
So now, here I am.
Having my first go on a Souls-like game, a decade after the first one launched (not counting demon souls).
Got in rather late to decide on recording some of it.
The asylum demon died on the first try, which gave me hope.
Which then turned to doubt after dying to the taurus demon and bell gargoyles.
Lots and lots of times.
Sadly enough, no footage of that.
Teetering on the brink of surrender, I decide to push through just a bit more.
So now we drop right in, looking for quelaag allready instead.
I was sure, she had to be somewhere further upward.
So inching my way step by step, fully stressed from the rickity small platforms, I start to wheigh the option, to maybe go back again.
Cardinal gaming sin number 1: backtracking.
Which then turns out to be the solution.
Follow me on my road.
The path of a fresh fledgeling, soft and tender meat.
Ready to be sacrificed to the gods of Souls games.
Looking for a person, who is known for being a 'git'.
And their name is appearently: 'Gud'.
