Dark Souls 2 SOTFS playthrough part 27 Bosses Ancient Dragon, King Vendrick, Throne Watcher/Defender
0Yep this part is doing a few boss fights 2 of them are needed to help with unlocking an additional boss as in adding a third final boss BUT the last one I did was for a side quest.
First of all the ancient dragon is quite beefy in health the trick is trick him into a pattern of attacks so that way you can easily dodge, attack and repeat also putting on Gower's Ring of Protection can really help it's worst attack is when it flies in the air and breathes fire on the ground but since you always running away from it your back is turned this rings reduces damage from any attack that hits the player in the back not just back stabs!
Next up is king vendrick assuming you have 4 or 5 giant souls you should be able to damage him properly now you see the giant souls reduce the bosses defences which is WHY you need them now he's quite simple just attack him in the back like I did and dodge from time to time always attack him in the back and when he jumps to reposition just follow him again on his back.
If you want his souls then you need to go back to the shrine of amana make sure you are in human form as well inside is his souls and at the back his armour set.
Lastly I do a side quest for Royal Sorcerer Navlaan you need to get 4 items for him he just needs to see them so he won't get to keep them, here's what he needs and the rewards for getting them for him.
Gives the Player a Dispelling Ring(orginal) for showing him Ladder Miniature after accepting to kill Laddersmith Gilligan
Gives the Player a Simpleton's Spice(orginal) for showing him Cale's Helm after accepting to kill Cale the Cartographer
Gives the Player the Forbidden Sun Pyromancey(orginal) for showing him a Sunset Staff after accepting to kill Felkin the Hexer.
Gives the Player the Unleash Magic Sorcery(orginal) for showing him the Aged feather after accepting to kill Emerald Herald
You don't need to kill any of these guys just get there items, buy the Ladder Miniature from gilligan, kill the boss Throne Watcher/Defender to get cales throne along with a bunch of other bosses, have your faith and intelligence at 20 so that way Felkin will give you the staff, and by now you shoudl alrady have the aged feather!
this also unlocks a shop for him BUT you need to be hollow otherwise he won't even know you!
Speaking of which the boss Throne Watcher and Defender needs to be beaten with bernhard as a NPC summon IF you didn't already have him survive the other 3 boss fights! these 2 are tough AND the worst part is that they can revive each other so if you take one down then attack the other one as soon as possible the NPC summon |I used was brilliant he really held his own!
I DID want to use a homeward bone but the game wouldn't let me NOW I know why it was because I had an NPC summon with so use the black crystal first THEN use the aged feather so yeah that was my bad back there LOL!
PS:Next time we start with the DLC areas there are 3 in total and we already have all the keys needed to unlock them but which one will I do first?
