There's some real irony in the many posts (for all the games) about "patching backstabs" coming from players who treat PVP like PVE and are getting backstabbed for it, all while they themselves were trying to circle strafe backstab.

Circle strafe backstabs work on PVE because PVE doesn't lock onto their targets and turn/move for positioning, they tend to just move in the direction of their target and attack when close enough. In PVP circle strafe backstabs could work but there are many ways of countering it.
