Uugh, this was annoying, but deceptively easy. I had only 4/5 Giant Souls when I did this, as I can't bring myself to kill that lovely dragon. That means his defenses were 2x, but that's fine. My weapon is a +5 Drangleic Sword, and +5 Dragonrider Shield. Basically I just stayed behind him, as it shows in the video. Don't get too anxious, or impatient, and ALWAYS keep a good stamina reserve... those hits hurt a lot.

Also, he doesn't drop a soul, but his soul can be found on a chair in Shrine of Amana after the second bonfire on the left wall through a door that can only be opened after killing Vendrick, and while human.
