Saint Bident is the third longest spear in the game, the first being Gargoyle Spear, the second being Dragonslayer Swordspear.

It does have poor AR rating but it can also be infused and buffed, and since it benefits from Faith Scaling you should give it a either the Blessed weapon buff or the Lightning buff.

I went with Blessed, and stacked that with Bountiful Light and a Greatshield for high Health Regen.

In a situation where my opponent is a caster, or playing passively, I will even put the greatshield away and cast Gentle Prayer. All three health regen spells combined help make up for the lack of damage with this weapon and give off a true tanky feeling.
