Having to fight a caster is generally an annoying experience, the majority of them are extremely passive and are only looking to do a lot of burst damage without taking any risks at all. I generally only throw Duel Charms if I'm looking to annoy someone that just casted a ton of buffs or something like DMB on Twinaxes. Seeing Crystal Magic Weapon put onto Brigand Twin Daggers I was throwing them to avoid an annoying soulmass to L1/R1 dagger spam. When he started spamming spells to reset the situation I was already annoyed so I just responded in kind. One of us very clearly has had a lot more experience in dodging spells. As for the the sunbro, he got spell spammed just because he wouldn't stop to face me.
