I'm in no way against summoning others for help and I actually love it as a feature with how it greatly adds to the overall experience for both sides. As a co-oper it can either be a fun challenge with a friend or possibly a fleeting experience through a tough area with an individual you'll probably never meet again. From an invader's perspective, I personally find the fights involving more people to be more dynamic than a simple 1v1. In addition to that, overcoming the various stacked advantages the host's side gets is a unique challenge but the moment the potential of having to fight an endless wave of summons appears then the first thing to die was any sense of balance (along with any respect I would've had for the host).

Also note that the host in this invasion started out by making his way safely behind the fog wall and came back to fight me. He has only himself to blame for losing this fight as he had no incentive to do it from the very start (he could've saved his sunbro by easily walking about 5 more steps and starting the boss fight). Co-opers say they hate pvp but any moment they have some notable advantage they very clearly love it.
