Dark Souls Remastered is a third-person action adventure role-playing game, developed by FromSoftware and published by Namco Bandai Games. The game was released in May, 2018 for the PS4, Xbox One and Windows PCs, followed by a Nintendo Switch release in October, 2019. As the follow-up spiritual successor to the cult classic Demon Souls, the original Dark Souls was released in 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and in 2012 for Windows PCs.

Today, the original is still considered to be one of the greatest games of all time. Featuring excellent graphics (for its time) and addictive gameplay, Dark Souls paved the way for subsequent releases in the form of Dark Souls II, Dark Souls III and the recently-released Elden Ring, which for the first time in the franchise, offers an expansive open world for gamers to traverse.

DSR has upgraded graphics, and with the exception of the Switch version, runs at 60 fps, making for buttery-smooth animations and special effects. It also includes the DLC package, "Artorias of the Abyss". The game offers a single-player campaign, as well an online multiplayer mode, where players can actually jump into another player's game to offer assistance or invade with nefarious intentions (no thanks!).

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that in the world of video games, the entire Souls franchise is famously known for being brutally difficult. However, as difficult as it may be, it's also known for being fair, which is perhaps one of the main reasons why it is so enticing. This is not your typical hack and slash adventure, where you mow down enemies like dominoes. You have to study your enemies, learn their moves, and attack and defend accordingly...especially the Bosses - oh those bosses! You're gonna die folks, you're gonna die a lot. But with patience and perseverance, you can be successful, all the way to its conclusion.

I never played a Souls game before, so it will be a learning experience for me too. Do I have the skills and the aforementioned patience and perseverance to see the game to its conclusion? Who knows, but I'm gonna try. What exactly will my uploads look like? I don't know that either. But I do know this: Like everybody else, I'm gonna die and I'm gonna die a lot. So let's get this out of the way right now: I won't be uploading any videos where I'm dying 20 times to the same boss...that's no fun to do and it's no fun to watch. So if you don't see me dying a lot, you can rest assure, that's because I'll be doing a lot of editing as I go. Hey, at least I'm honest. One last thing: I can promise you this - I will be farming, fighting and leveling up as much as possible during my playthrough. Don't be surprised if you see me jump several levels from one video to the next.

Anyway, enough chit-chat, it's off to the Kingdom of Lordran I go! #DARKSOULS #DARKSOULSREMASTEREDPS4 #DARKSOULS3
