Far Cry 6 - PART 3 - FINDING JUAN CORTEZ
2Far Cry 6 is an open-world, first-person shooter, developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft. The game was released in October, 2021 for the PS4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows, Stadia and Amazon Luna. The story's setting takes place on the fictional island-country of Yara, located somewhere in the Caribbean. "El Presidente", Anton Castillo (portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito of "Breaking Bad" fame) rules with an iron fist, as he raises his son Diego to follow in his footsteps. As the player, you take on the role of Dani Rojas (as a male or female protagonist), whose only concern - at least in the beginning - is to get the heck off the island. But as the game unfolds, he/she meets up with a band of guerilla fighters, and (you guessed it), decides to join in the fight to topple Castillo's oppressive regime.
As with previous Far Cry games in the franchise, there are several main missions, a myriad of side quests, and a huge open-world map to explore. And, of course, there are a dozens of collectibles and secrets to uncover (if you choose), that will keep you busy for 60 hours and up. There are many weapons and gadgets to unlock and enemies and wild animals to kill. You can go on foot, or commandeer many different types of vehicles in which to get around the map. Perhaps the most noted feature of all Far Cry games, is the almost infinite ways in which to complete each mission objective. You want to go in quietly? No problem, stealth can be your friend. Or if you'd rather go in guns ablazing and blow some heads off, yes, that'll work too. And naturally, depending on the situation, you can combine both methods to your hearts content - it's all up to you. The game also has a cooperative multiplayer mode, even during the main campaign missions...NICE! So grab a friend and let's get the party started.
As a big fan of the Far Cry franchise, this will be my 4th playthrough in the series. I absolutely loved FC 3, 4 and 5 and completed each several times, including on my channel. Keep in mind, this will not be a walkthrough or tutorial of any kind - there are literally thousands of those that do a great job, and quite frankly, I use them all the time to help me get through most games (hey, at least I admit it). So, why would you watch my gameplay? Well, as I stated above, there are so many ways to play-out each mission, I always find it fun to see how other gamers approach things. My way is just another one, but it will be different in some ways than all the others, even if it's in subtle ways.
As a final note, believe it or not, there is no manual save system in the game...whaaaaaaaat? Only auto-saves, which not only happens (what seems like) every two seconds, but at what also seems like random times during gameplay. I have no idea why the developers went this route, but - it is what it is!
