One of the hardest bosses in the game, but even someone like me can beat him (took me seven goes, but I did it in the end).

I thought it might help to list his attack patterns, so I've done this with timecodes. There might be some others he didn't try on me.

0:03 A side sweep with his head - easy to block with a good shield. He may do this twice and then follow up with a tail swing.
0:09 Stomp attack - again not too bad if you keep your shield up, but watch your stamina.
0:13 Jumps away from you, swings round and breathes fire horizontally - roll left (or block with a fire-resistant shield).
0:18 Rises into the air, then swoops down trying to knock you over - dodge if possible, as it may knock you over if you block. He will probably do a 180º immediately after, which might include a horizontal fire breath.
0:26 Rises very high into the air and blasts fire onto the ground. This has a wide AoE so roll (twice, if possible) out of the way.
1:01 Goes up on his hind legs and sprays fire vertically forward. This is an excellent chance to run in and get a hit, as long as you're not in the path of the fire. You may be able to block the fire if you're too far away to get a hit.
1:23 Rises on his hind legs and goes for the calamity grab, which will double the damage you take. You can spot this one by the red glow in his eyes and the way he puts his hands out to the side (warning: his reach is wider than it appears). Critical that you dodge out of the way, you can't block this one. While he's doing this he's vulnerable to an attack from the side.
1:38 Sometimes he'll stand at a distance as if trying to decide what to do next. This is the perfect opportunity to heal.
2:10 A 360º flip. He'll try and catch you with his tail. Blocking and rolling should both work.

NOTE: KALAMEET DOES MAGIC DAMAGE, NOT FIRE DAMAGE. Make sure your shield has good stability and good magic protection (I'm using the greatshield of Artorias in this video). The crest shield may be a good option, but watch your stability bar.

If it's your first time I'd recommend fifteen estus for this fight, ten as an absolute minimum (I only use seven in this fight, but there were a number of moments when healing would have been the wiser strategy). Every hit should really be a one-off - only hit twice if you're 100% sure it's safe.

He's a tough boss but the fight is actually pretty fun. Good luck! If I can do it, so can you.
