Interesting but useless little glitch as far as I can tell. Basically that Mage is that last unit in the party list, and the Necromancer is the second to last. When you delete the dead Mage, and when a spell targets the spot that the Mage was on when he died, then somehow a "damage message" is applied for the Necromancer even though he takes no damage.
