The Privateers is a „damage-stress“ team, here are roles of characters:
1st: Grave robber (dodge trinket + damage trinket) - damage dealer
2nd: Highwayman (damage trinkets) - damage dealer
3rd: Bounty hunter (Grappling Mits + accuracy trinket) - deathblow dealer
4th: Occultist (dodge trinket + stress trinket) - stress dealer
PROS:
1) Mark synergy (Occultist / Bounty hunter + Highwayman / Grave robber)
2) Great damage output
3) Great stress output
4) Great DoT output
5) 3 disruptors
6) 4 deathblowers
CONS:
1) Low healing potential
2) Marks are a menace
3) Stuns are a menace
4) Stress is a menace
5) DoT is a menace
The Privateers is a damage team with great strenght of stress and DoT. All characters are deathblowers and they have a powerful mark synergy, next you have 3 disruptors, but only 1 healer. Sadly this team is vulnerable against mark and stress teams.
I played a few strategies, like „mix damage + stress“, „the finishers“ and „mix damage + DoT“ and „mark team“. I tried both variantions of Grave robber (pure damage / DoT stresser), both are very good. And also both variantions of Highwayman (bandit / gunslinger), here’s better to stick with bandit version.
My advice: Start with Highwayman for opening the riposte, next use Bounty hunter for disruption OR marking someone, then Grave robber for dealing damage (pure or DoT) and lastly Occultist for healing / stressing.
I was suprised, how could be this team played. Sure a few loses against darkest players - some with a decent teams and some with LAME based teams. Honestly this team isn’t so bad, but there’s a little problem here. You have to rely only on Occultist’s healing and he’s an easy target. So, this team is kinda mid - good pressure, but fragile.
