I've been enjoying the first few hours of Darksiders 2 a lot, and it frankly baffles me just how much more *fun* I have with this game compared to DS1 (despite the obvious similarities between these two titles in terms of the core gameplay). Apart from changes and additions to the fundamental mechanics, where Darksiders 2 truly succeeds is in giving the player a significantly less dreary world to explore. Instead of the first game's post-apocalyptic gloom there's a melancholic fantasy vibe here which actually reminds me of games like Shadow of the Colossus (yes, that's high praise indeed).
