Dark Souls (Gameplay #3) - The Fog Has Lifted
In unmodded form the PC port of Dark Souls has an effective in-game resolution of 1024*720, which is exactly the same as the console version. However, tech-savvy gamers have already produced unofficial patches which remove that arbitrary limitation, and now the game can be played in standard PC resolutions such as 1920*1080. Thus, while the PC release may have been merely on par with its console counterparts just a few hours ago, the port has now definitely become the technologically superior version of Dark Souls. Playing the game in true HD (with a reasonably stable frame rate, no less) feels exactly as good as I hoped it would when I signed the Dark Souls PC petition earlier this year, and it really is great to have one of the most important RPGs of this console generation just a mouse click away in my Steam Library.
