DasTactic's In-Depth Process for Making YouTube Videos
Yes, this video goes for an hour and a half. Making videos for YouTube can be time-consuming.
In this video I cover:
0:40 My Philosophy - Speed vs Quality
2:02 Hardware - Computer and Microphone
5:05 Equaliser (for the microphone)
7:21 BandiCam and OBS for recording
18:48 A brief fight between my cat and dog (can't pause OBS recording)
22:02 File Management and Text Files
30:55 Sizer for resizing windows
34:22 Handbrake for post production
45:25 Media Player Classic for proofing
46:15 AVIdemux for splicing
53:00 What I Do While Uploading
55:05 Audacity for Voice Overs
55:55 Thumbnail Production
1:07:00 Full Blown Editing (Sony Vegas Pro)
In case you were wondering. It ended up taking Sony Vegas about 40 minutes to render out the final file. It then took Handbrake 8 minutes to do the post production on the Vegas output and the recording of the Vegas editing. It took about 10 seconds to splice the two elements together and save, then it is going to take about another 60 minutes to upload this video (which is pretty good for an hour and a half video). So in that time I'll make a one-off thumbnail and add it in (as you will have seen). After uploading it can take up to another hour for YouTube to process the video before it goes live but I can now use my computer without restriction as this is now being handled over at YouTube.
Hope this is helpful. If you have any other suggestions please add comments. :)
