In part 4 of our tutorial series about data-driven animation, we’ll begin writing our own expressions. In the previous parts, we created all the expressions we needed automatically using our free extension mamoworldJSON. However, sometimes you need very specific custom links that require you to modify the expressions manually. As an example, our weather template contains a text layer that shows the wind speed as “5 mph”, but our JSON file only contains the data as a plain number (without the “mph”). So, we’ll tweak the linking expression created by mamoworldJSON to add the suffix “mph” as needed.

If you’ve never worked with expressions before, I recommend you first watch our expressions tutorial series for beginners at https://mamoworld.com/tutorials/first-steps-expressions-expressions-tutorial-1
