8I figured out that if you use the "Freeze ProQuest Timer" Action Replay code, going out of bounds doesn't properly reset you, instead entering a state where all out of bounds triggers become disabled, and End Run stops working. I then realized that the memory address used for this code could be plugged into Dolphin Memory Engine, a memory editor like Cheat Engine designed for Dolphin specifically, to let me freeze and unfreeze the timer. When the timer runs out, the game returns to normal.
This video consists of the interesting parts of my out-of-bounds exploration, plus a very interesting crash you can get if you grind on that rail in Trainyard and then spam tricks.
