DayZ Update 1.29 Change To How Filters Attach To Gas Masks In cfgspawnabletypes.xml Server File
If you edit & create your own boosted loot Community Server files for DayZ on PC, PlayStation & Xbox Consoles, please be aware that the DayZ devs are changing the way filters are put onto Gas-Masks in update 1.29.
In DayZ 1.28 and previously, in the cfgspawnabletypes.xml file, filters were added to masks using the "cargo chance" function. With update 1.29 & going forward, the server uses the "attachments chance" function instead.
Make sure you change the opening & closing tags, as I show you in the video, and it would be a good idea to use an online XML validator to check your code before uploading to your server.
So if you use a custom cfgspawnabletypes file, or use the cfgeconomycore.xml "extra" addendum files method, make sure you adjust the file before 1.29 goes live.
The class-names effected are
type name="AirborneMask"
type name="GP5GasMask"
The above info was believed to be correct as of DayZ Update Patch 1.29 exp, August 2025.
Thanks, Rob.
