Mike sent me a great question: " I have a dayz 1.29 question. If I am running a deer isle server, I’m under the impression that the 1.29 update will not affect me. Is that correct? If not please explain since deerisle is a mod not an official release."

Unfortunately every DayZ official update & server change will have an effect on your modded map community PC Server, but in different ways and with various severity depending on what's in the update.

If the official update is just some extra gear or weapons, then a simple mission file (xmls and jsons) would be in order, and not much happens if you miss it, but if there's major under-the-hood changes to the game code, then that can lead to mod incompatibilities and deeper problems.

Keep an eye on the discord associated with the mod and test if you can on experimental, but don't be worried if there are problems, it's all part and parcel of being a DayZ Community Server owner!
