DCSS (P33): That's That!
13The title pretty much sums it up.
So yeah! Definitely a game that has a lot going for it. As I spoke of previously, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup takes classical roguelike elements, sprinkles some modern ingenuity on top, and comes off with an excellent game-meal. I've in fact played through a few times in between this big run, and although the early-game can be a tad tedious, the tools given to you make it go real fast, and there are still more than enough random challenges that keep your attention.
I feel like I should apologize for dying on an obvious trap, especially because it was supposed to be a quick romp through the final floor of the dungeon. On the other hand, I'm hoping it will inspire some of you who aren't avid Crawl players to check out the game for yourself and see what the realm of Zot actually looks like! Because that's the best way to get someone to do something: screw up so badly that they think "wow I could have done so much better".
This was a good taste of the game, but I've had my fill on these LPs, and it's time to move to another. Many thanks to all those who provided enlightening comments and suggestions!
