25Without further ado, let's turn on all the hardest settings, select our skills randomly, and plunge into the first floor without hesitation!...and try not to get killed in the process. The game sure isn't being easy on me, and I anticipate only more challenging tasks.
Regarding my comment last description about this game being in the "classic" roguelike category: let me rephrase by stating it is classicAL, not to be confused by the possible meaning that Dungeons of Dredmor is, itself, a classic roguelike (or that it will even become one). Rather, DoD realizes similar combat mechanics, throws you into a similar setting, and employs similar complexities in its stats, items, and abilities that I have seen in generally-accepted "major roguelikes", which (I believe) places it in roughly the same category of game genre. By analogy, orchestral music has been written and played for centuries, and yet we still have gems appear in our lifetime. In any case, I apologize if I offended anyone.
