Draconian Ice Elementalist:
Here is how you train skills. First you train the skills that you use to kill dudes. Once you are killing dudes well enough, then you train the skills you use to not die to dudes. If you later run into problems killing dudes, you switch back to killdudes skills.
In this case that translates to getting my relevant spells early (ramparts, armor, freeze), and then go from there. I can't stress enough how important it is to adapt to what the floor god provides, but especially so on an ice elementalist since the important spells from the book can be trained very quickly. As you can see in the log, my character got quite a variety of
Getting red scales on an Ice Elementalist is actually a really good thing. The apt malus is irrelevant since my spells cap at level 3 pretty much and the breath weapon provided me with some essential complementary damage for skellies and ice resistant things in general. Using that early game +8 Dagger was also very important.
As a draconian, my aptitudes lead me towards the path of magic. Can't be a face tanking melee dude if you can't wear armor, and you also don't have penalties from your armor if you can't wear armor. It's only natural to go for magic as a draconian.
For this character (and for any character honestly) Chei will start as a hinderance but will give you a gargantuan power spike as the game progresses and you become more powerful. +15 stats are massive. Wouldn't have gone for Chei if I hadn't found Lesser Beckoning before Chei. Didn't use Chei's abilities a lot but they're either very strong escapes or very overcosted damage in the form of Slouch. Not bad, just overcosted.
You probably should get either int or dex, probably int. This character got int for the very good spell variety that i got. Cheibriados does give a lot of stats so regardless of what you pump you can do a lot with Chei, you're not limited by your stats when you're with Chei.
Dragon form Manifold is very good and quite cheap. Give it a try! :)
