Death Stranding (First impressions / Review)
7Hey hey folks, and welcome to the latest instalment of Dave's Impressions. This First Impressions / Review of Death Stranding on PC was made after playing the game for around 5 hours. Enjoy!
Death Stranding is strage for a blockbuster video game. Post-apocalyptic worlds are par for the course in the medium, but never quite like this. The player is tasked with connecting America after a cataclysm. There is rain that accelerates time, and goopy ghosts known as BTs. Dead bodies can trigger void out which will destroy large areas of the map, and the only way anyone can get the supplies they need is if a porter delivers it to them on foot. Sam Porter Bridges is such a man. the game is a bit of a mass managment and land traversal simulator. Get from point A to point B as fast as possible delivering cargo in the best shape as possible. Add in copious cutscenes and some stellar audio/visual presentation, and you have a game that's like nothing I've ever played. Once a player connects a new bunker to the chiral network, their game is littered with ladders, ropes, bridges, mailboxes, and words of encouragement for other players who have left these things here to help those coming along behind them. So far, it's what I love the most about this game.
