Debunking the Best Evidence for Evolution in 5 Minutes! Debating Endogenous Retroviruses
47Many defenders of common descent look to endogenous retroviruses as the so-called best evidence for evolution. I (Donny) have studied this topic extensively. Understanding ERVs and the pattern of their distribution in the biological world is an ongoing research project of mine. I have written a book on the topic. I've written articles on the subject. And I've done numerous debates and presentations/lectures on the issue of endogenous retroviruses.
A thorough dismantling of ERVs as supposed evidence for evolution can require a lengthy technical response. I've done this many times. It is also important to have answers to these challenges that are simple, clear and powerful. Watch this video for a short but effective answer to this challenge to the Biblical model of ancestry. This answer was provided during an open mic debate challenge to ALL evolutionists. The ongoing challenge is for guardians of evolution to provide what they believe are the very best lines of evidence for their position (that says whales and strawberries are related through common ancestry).
