Deepest Trench | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
Today we archive a very special game that completely caught me by surprise. Deepest Trench is a game that mostly flew under the radar with me, but recently I saw a video by Jesse Cox who played a demo version of Deepest Trench. The game looked awesome and I could not wait to try it out myself.
Deepest Trench is a game that can be played solo, but ideally you want to play it with a friend in co-op mode. You follow a man and a woman who work for the military as diving specialists. You are tasked with heading to an abandoned underwater facility and will have to solve various puzzles by working together as a team.
It really made me reminisce of those couch co-op games when I was younger and me and my buddy had a great time to figure out all the challenges. And its not just puzzles that you have to overcome as there are also dangers lurking in the dark. There are some really surprising and cool encounters and some of them had us screaming. Nowadays we don't get too many of these couch co-op games and its a shame since I enjoy those games very much. Games like It Takes Two and A Way Out come to mind, but those games are often few and far between.
Deepest Trench is a great time if you want to do some co-op with a friend and probably the weakest bit of the game is its storytelling as some of the cutscenes are a bit underwhelming. The first cutscene drags on a bit too long and might even pull some people away, which is a shame since the rest of the game is so good. Also the very final mission could use some balancing in the tasks that are required by both players since one player is kind of forced to do nothing for almost 20 minutes. But this developer definitely impressed me with this title and I cannot wait to see what their next project will be!
