TRANSFORMERS Devastation | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
99Today we archive the very first Transformers game on the channel. There are plenty of Transformers games out there, so it was a bit of a process to determine where to begin. A friend of mine is a giant fan of Transformers in general and he told me that the game Transformers Devastation is a game that catches the tone and atmosphere of the cartoon very well. It is also a game that is no longer available and therefore pretty rare. Which makes it the perfect game to archive on this channel so that we do not lose it to time.
I managed to get the PlayStation 4 version at a retro game convention and now I have finally played it. The game was actually, to my great surprise, made by Platinum games who are also responsible for some of the best Japanese action games out there.
And you immediately feel that a talented studio is behind this. The action is visceral and awesome. You can do various combos, use long range attacks and even implement your vehicle form while performing combinations. The level design is also great since you can do various objectives in any order and can cruise around the maps with ease while you are transformed into a car. There are multiple characters to choose from and they all play very differently.
The look of the game is also top notch as its so colorful and vibrant that it never got old. So I am really happy that we finally have welcomed the Transformers over here on The Game Archivist and it is now time to look at supposedly the best Transformer games ever made. Starting with War for Cybertron.
