Chocobo GP | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
63I love Party Racing games like Mario Kart and there are actually a lot of games out there that have a similar formula. We have already archived Madagascar Kartz, Ben 10 Racing, Star Wars Super Bombad Racing etc. But there are plenty more to archive and for today's Party Racer we head into the world of Final Fantasy with Chocobo GP for the Switch.
Chocobo GP tells the story of a cute, yellow Chocobo who gets wrapped up in a racing chamionship where supposedly the winner gets their wish granted. Along the way we meet a whole bunch of quirky and colorful characters that are all references to Final Fantasy games. I was very happy to see that Vivi and Steiner from my favorite Final Fantasy game were represented as well. And there is even a stage that is an homage to Alexandria complete with a remix of Garnet's song.
Overal the look of this game is gorgeous. Everything is so colorful and vibrant and the character design is very cute too. Sometimes Kart Racers can feel a bit lackluster like with Paw Patrol Grand Prix or Garfield Kart, but here they actually put effort in making the racing tracks look and feel awesome and atmospheric.
There are plenty of options to play around with as well like time trials, grand prix races, story modes and lots of things and characters to unlock. Chocobo GP definitely is one of the better Party Racers out there, so if you are in the mood for some colorful fun, call up some friends and partake in some races with your favorite Final Fantasy creatures.
