Delta Force: Black Hawk Down (PS2) Gameplay -No Commentary- | Hyperkin PS1/PS2 HDTV Cable |
I lost thousands of hours of my life playing this game online back in the day. 32 player matches of mayhem that played a lot like Modern Warfare minus the killstreaks. I loved playing this game online until the servers got so laggy, it made playing the game difficult.
As for the single player mode, I don't own the PC original, but I do own the Xbox version, and though the PS2 version looks way worse graphically compared to the Xbox version, it plays way better. The big reason if just feels better to play is rebellion made an incredibly smart choice when it comes to the grenades in particular.
In the Xbox version, and I assume the PC version as well, you have to swap to grenades in your inventory to throw one, and then swap back to your firearm to use it again. In the PS2 version, holding R2 brought up a grenade menu, and depending on which face button you pressed, you could quick throw a grenade, smoke grenade, or flashbang. It sounds like a small thing, but it makes the game so much smoother to play, especially online.
The Xbox version allowed 50 player matches which is impressive for sure, the only problem was, aside from the grenade mechanic, the xbox version had such overdone aim assist, you could literally just run around shooting an M60 in everyone's direction, and the game would assign you headshots from across the map. It made the game completely unbalanced.
The PS2 version plays way better than the Xbox version in the single player, and especially the multiplayer. It looks terrible, but plays better.
NOTE: THis game also supports the Socom headset to give your teammates voice commands. Say "Do your Exercises" in the mic and they do pushups.
