Syphon Filter 2 (PS1) Gameplay -No Commentary- | Played on a PS3 |
Syphon Filter 2 is an example of a game that is both incredibly difficult, and incredibly gripping as well. No matter how hard the game can get at times, I always find myself giving the mission, "Just one more try."
SF2 vets will laugh at me because I'm not even playing this game on hard mode, but as the game moves forward past this level, you had better learn how to pop into first person mode, and quickly get a headshot because there are some incredibly tough areas in this game that have flack-jacketed enemies who will hit you with an instant-death headshot. There are also some tough stealth missions in the game (forced stealth missions in games are nothing new to gaming), and the game can be controller-throwing frustrating at times.
However, like I said, it compels you to keep playing. The gunplay in the game as as fun and fresh as it was in the original game, using the three targeting modes. Objectively, Siphon Filter 2 is probably the best and hardest game in the series, even if the original is my favorite, and SF3 is also excellent. The whole series if beloved by PS1 fans for very good reason, and are three of the best action games on the system. Great series, but super tough at times.
PS. If you have never seen the Syphon Filter 2 Taser commercial, you need to. One of the funniest video game commercials of all time.
