Deltarune Cover - 'Seven Four' (But it's a Full Track)
Where the forest would grow.
=== DESCRIPTION ===
'kris_piano_sevenfour' is probably my second favourite of Kris's piano tracks, and it stands out to me as the most likely of them all to be hinting at a track that will be used in a future chapter. As soon as I heard it I immedatiely felt it fits the theme of a 'Field of Pink and Gold' pretty well, and have managed to convince myself that a full version will be used as an area theme at some point in Chapter 5.
Whether or not that turns out to be the case, with how good the piano sketch for this track is, I imagine we will hear a 'full' version at some point in DELTARUNE, so before that happens... here's my take on what an extended version of this track could sound like!
This was a lot of fun to work on, I struggled with certain sections and getting the theming right, but after I started working on the extended section I had lots of ideas and felt very inspired to complete it. I like to imagine the second half ramping up to the 'inferno of jealousy' part Gerson talks about, before everything goes back to being calm.
I realise this isn't quite as faithful to the style of DELTARUNE's soundtrack as my Last Prophecy cover, and that's mostly because I treated this as a bit more of a reimagining of the track than I did with lasst prophecy - after all this version deviates from the ending section the original track has quite substantially, largely because I couldn't figure out how to continue the track from there in a way that felt right, so I decided to make up my own continuation instead.
But, although this is more of a reimagining, I really like how it turned out overall. I think I managed to convey the feelings the original track give me fairly well in this, so hopefully they come across.
I am very excited to see what this track ends up becoming whenever we do get a full version of it, it has the potential to be one of my favourite tracks from the soundtrack if the piano sketch is anything to go by.
As for the video, it was pretty hastily thrown together, likely made evident by the background art having a very low amount of detail. That's partly because the image I have in my head of a vast, beautiful field with pink and gold highlights and the seven flowers growing all over the place is something I could never hope to faithfully draw, and partly because I've been holding onto releasing this for a few weeks without having made any progress in creating a background until today and don't want keep procrastinating, so hopefully it at least conveys some of the image I had in my head even if the art itself isn't very good haha.
But with all that said, I hope you like it!
