Game Type: First-Person Shooter
Wow! This thing aged well considering the limited resolution. It's a debatable whether or not this should be considered a first person shooter as you are clearly inside a ship. But considering the close quarter combat aspect to it, it feels fitting to be labelled an FPS.
You better be good at visualizing 3D environments because this game has tunnels that go over/under. tunnels that literally go down 90 degrees, where you'll be better off re-orienting your ship to face. So being able to map out these complex areas in your head will be a huge boon. I didn't demo the map system, but it's not super obvious to navigate.
Probably better played with an advanced joystick with multiple axis, but it's strange how you can spider grip your way through this one. It's so satisfying to make it to the exit after blowing up the reactor!
I highly recommend you play this using ddraw in fullscreen, with about 180k cycles. That way you will not get any screen tearing and you should hit 60fps 90+% of the time. If you can a tiny windowed viewscreen for the game simply make sure to put your monitor's resolution under the "fullscreen resolution" value.
It' such a pleasure to play this game with smooth graphics. WOOT!
