The Desert Rats have lost the last of their main battle tanks, one of the most controversial casualties of the biggest shake-up of the Army in decades.

It was a momentous day for the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards as three Challenger Twos were put onto low loaders to begin their journey out of Fallingbostel in Germany.

The regiment will now become a mobile force equipped with fast moving Jackal armoured vehicles.
