Welcome everybody! To Let's Play Homeworld Deserts of Kharak! Part 22, Mission 13 on Classic difficulty, Khar-Toba. I don’t know what to say, this is the end. End of Homeworld Deserts of Kharak, Khar-Toba is where it all ends. The first City of Kharak, First city after exile from Hiigara and at the same time graveyard of the Hyperspace Core and the Galactic Map, key elements in Homeworld 1, the original one. Khar-Toba Was in fact name of the Exile ship, one of many but at the same time the main exile ship, it is here where the Hiigaras hidden all they could from the Taiidan, this place is sacred to the Gaalsien and they won’t stop at anything to wipe out the Kapisi of the face of Kharak. Mission starts with Rachel approaching the Khar-Toba site, which is oddly enough the same way as intro to Homeworld 1 starts. The person responsible for those little tastes here and there should get a medal! We take position in the middle of the map at the Khar-Toba ship. We need to defend it till Rachel can set up the orbital weapon targeting systems. While she is at it, we will have hands full of work with the incoming Gaalsien fleet. They will try to flank us but most of there attacks will come from north and west side of the Khar-Toba site. As always in late missions of Homeworld Deserts of Kharak most of the units spawn outside of the map. As soon as Rachel exits Khar-Toba we gain access to the ultimate weapon of Homeworld Deserts of Kharak Taiidan orbital Ion cannon this weapon can easily wipe out entire fleets use it as soon as You can in great clusters of enemy units. A newly arrive at Khar-Toba, Gaalsien Carrier will be the perfect targeting practise. Destroy it as it will swarm You with all kind of Gaalsien units. After it will join the rest of wrecks in Khar-Toba the Gaalsien will throw at You their last act of defence, the most powerful unit in the Gaalsien Fleet – Flagship with the K'had Sajuu himself on board. This beast of a ship is extremely powerful, with long range missile systems and almost unlimited supply of resources to constantly swarm Your position with units. Its only weakness is lacking short-range defence systems and no cover against the orbital Ion Cannon. The Gaalsien Flagship is I think one of the most beautiful units in the entire Homeworld Deserts of Kharak game, I have never felt soo bad with destroying an enemy unit, it really fits to be the Khar-Toba boss unit. Strategy thought seems simple, Lure the Flagship with his escort in to Your position. Set scanners on their way to Your carrier and prepare the Gaalsien Honour Guard units in first line, use the Ion Cannon as soon as its ready, There is only place for one carrier on Khar-Toba site. This is the end of Homeworld Deserts of Kharak, I won’t be recording more of it for now. Well unless the developers surprise us with ana expansion pack… I will be waiting.
