Devil May Cry 2: Dante Mission 18 (Normal, Argosax & TDE Final Boss)
So then... Arius was stopped. Lucia was relieved, but then... the last thing she thought Dante needed to do left... was to kill her.
She was a demon born from Arius, so she thought that she deserved to be slain like a demon by Dante, before she becomes unstoppable and starts hunting humans.
Suddenly, a portal to the demon world opened up. It seems that Arius's ritual still worked. Lucia feared that if Dante entered into the demon world, he would never return, so she offered to go in his stead. She was sad, so sad that she cried; to be a demon - a devil - to have to die like this.
But that's when Dante made her realize that she's more human than she realizes, because devils never cry.
Dante then goes for one last coin flip, and it was heads that he ventured forward into the demon world, letting Lucia hold on to his coin.
----------
This final mission is all about the final boss. You must first fight the monster Arius was after this whole time: Argosax the Chaos!
He is a hideous pileup of previous bosses in this game: Orangguerra, Nefastirris, Furiataurus, and Jokatgulm. He even has bits of Phantom again, even further, bits of Griffon, also from the first game!
You have to very carefully destroy each of these parts from Argosax while dodging their signature attacks. As they're beaten, they'll vanish.
----------
After beating this form of Argosax, he takes on another form, an ultimate form, his true form! The Despair Embodied!
In this form, Argosax can shift between a male and female form, each with their own attacks.
But I don't focus on this fight for too long. It was one of the first that almost got me killed, which means I finally got to show off one more mechanic...
When Dante's health is VERY low, low enough to turn red, pulling his Devil Trigger will unleash his own ultimate form: The Majin Form!
This Majin Form is completely invincible, can fly, and deal the most damage out of all of Dante's attacks. The only real drawback is that he can't turn it off until the magic gauge is gone.
I just use this to go ham on the final boss right as the meter is used up.
----------
Dante proceeds to very stylishly finish off Argosax with a gun right to the face. JACKPOT!
But his work STILL isn't done from there! He takes his motorcycle and drives all the way into Hell to make sure no more demons can crawl out.
----------
This completes Dante's side of the game. You can see all of the ranks you've made in each mission. It doesn't show here since I've already done this, but you'll also unlock the ability to choose any mission you want, and Diesel outfits for Dante and Lucia.
I will eventually probably playthrough Lucia's side of this game, but I'm done with it for now.
Thanks for watching!
