It's possible to use the Skewer clip tactic and a very, very long jump to skip almost the entirety of Mission 5. However, it's so difficult to do that I don't expect anyone to ever use this skip in runs. It's just as well; there is an alternative that is probably better (which I'll upload a bit later).

---

0:00 - Near the start of the level, after fighting the first fight and getting rid of the roots, there is a small dead end with a red orb cache. Breach the bars at the back of the corridor there using a Skewer clip tactic of your choosing.

(Not on the vid: the most reliable tactic is probably making V stand on the rocks at the right corner while leaving Shadow behind him on lower elevation. Then angle the spike so that it leaves V in a tight space between the spike and the wall. You don't even have to jump in order for this to push V through the wall. Thanks to KaioSekka for demonstrating the glitch is possible to do like this.)

0:11 - Now for the insanely difficult long jump. The corridor ahead lacks a floor, so I use Skewer again so that I can start the jump a bit further and higher than would normally be possible.

0:19 - I do double jump into Hanging. Afterwards, an air attack; Nightmare is also summoned.

Yes, you can use Nightmare to extend your long jump - not only is it a viable target you can teleport towards (using Promotion), but you can also use enemy step by brushing against him. But ONLY if it spawns in a specific way. There are three different ways it can spawn from what I tested here. One is too close, so V completely misses with Promotion and can't use enemy step. One is high above and seemingly doesn't even grant enemy step.

There's also a certain timing to things. Even if you get the right Nightmare spawn to appear, if you're too quick, its body doesn't exist yet and you can't get enemy step off it. If you're too slow, V is dragged down with Nightmare as it starts falling down and you lose a lot of height. To get the timing right, I first use an air attack, then air taunt which is interrupted with Promotion at the half-way point.

Another thing is that while doing Promotion, the camera can go wonky all by itself, potentially ruining the rather delicate process of navigating to the cutscene trigger. There's a lot that can go wrong here...

If everything works out alright, tap 'jump' to enemy step away from Nightmare as soon as possible before getting dragged down. Thanks to enemy step you can now use another double jump and Hanging to glide even further.

0:30 - V doesn't have a good variety of air attacks. Once the Hanging ends, all you can really do to slow down your fall is to spam the cane air attack. This lets you slowly move forward as well.

0:34 - Eventually Nightmare respawns, and you can use Promotion a second time to once again get near it and get another enemy step and double jump. Unlike the first Nightmare spawn, this one gives a guaranteed enemy step, but the timing issue is still something to look out for.

The level will also load around V around this time. Optimally, you should be just a little to the left of the exit tunnel, approaching the wide open area ahead.

0:38 - Another double jump and Hanging followed by air attacks. Turn off Devil Trigger so that Nightmare doesn't confuse your Gambit. Get just below ground level, then Gambit into the cutscene trigger ahead.

0:45 - V will void out during the cutscene, causing an extra loading time and a time waste. I suppose this wouldn't be such a big deal on PC, though. Level continues afterwards from the wide open area before the Geryon boss fight.

This whole skip would be much easier if there was some extra floor at some point along the way. From what I tried, there isn't floor on top of the escape tunnel or the preceding tunnel either. There IS just a tiny bit of floor to the side of the tunnel as it ascends, but it can't really be relied on.
