Devs Speak on Kingdom Creation & Mulitplayer Problems (Discussion) - Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Devs Respond to Angry Player - https://youtu.be/eaWe4hrnWfU
FULL SCRIPT:
Today we are going to talk about devs speaking on kingdom creation and
decisions, mulitplayer problems and more!
Yesterday we received a hotfix with single and multiplayer changes, so some of these replies are directly related to that hotfix.
Video on hotfix - https://youtu.be/Vawlj1J1z_8

Here we go:
- First we have a player quoting the devs about the sandbox kingdom creation being independent from the main story and asks if the dev team can implement the sandbox start into the main storyline quest.
The devs respond that the sandbox mode does work independently and through the story aswell. Devs also state that they might add more flavor to the sandbox creation mode, but for right now in their opinion, that is not needed.
Personally it would be cool to see a different story when you choose the
independent route and probably down the line we might see one, but that is
also not the priority right now in terms of dev changes.
Devs have stated that they are working on new main story content, so we can see more quests and better quest content coming soon.
Now the same person also stated the devs stating future changes to kingdom decisions when it comes to declaring war and peace and asked if this will fix kingdoms starting war with other kingdoms on the opposite sides of the map.
The devs respond stating that kingdom decisions are not related to AI party
or army targeting, but improvements are always being made.
So what this means is that when an AI is targeting a potential new war
opponent, they do not look at the culture of the other kingdom or the army
specifics.
Personally i think these types of wars are needed, and eventually late game the kingdoms might be way closer than at the beginning. Changes to AI lords in terms of recruiting and buying supplies has changed the reality of these types of wars too. In a recent patch, AI lords are now able to recruit and buy food from neutral towns and villages, before they could only do it at their own towns and villages. This makes it easier for armies to travel long distances to wage war. Also realistically speaking, wars from lands far away was a thing that did happen.
- Second we have a player requesting the character limit for multiplayer
usernames to be lowered from 5 characters to 4. The original change in the
hotfix was 5-30 characters were allowed.
The devs state that this will be asked about, but no promises if a change
will be made.
This is a small issue and i understand people want to get those wildly popular used usernames first, but this is a non issue and probably not on the devs radar as of right now, in the future it might be a change.
- Third we have a player stating that matchmakng is broken for multiplayer
will games being created and people joining, but the match itself is
not starting.
Devs state that this is forwarded to the server guy.
- This brings us to the next post where another player states that this has
also happened to him where 90 people were in a server but the match would not start.
The devs that are assigned to servers reply back stating that they are working on a fix at the moment.
- This brings us to the next post which is an hour later and the same
devs state that the server issue is fixed and matchmaking should work again.
Now i think this directly shows why i do defend the devs and i bet that this
will never be in a single negative thread on the forums, the devs were made
aware of a problem, got straight to work and fixed it in 1 hour. Great job
in my opinion and shows that the care is there.
- Sixth, We have another player who asking about crashes that happened
in siege games.
A dev responded that this will be forwarded to the devs in charge of servers
asap like the other problem was. Also asks about region of play and the maps that were played.
The player responded that he is in EU and that there is no real pattern,
different games and maps and it was probably a one off in terms of luck with crashes.
The dev responsible with serverside issues then replied that he has looked
into the problem and also all the recent crashes.
Again quick dev responses and solutions. Both will be overlooked in the future, but i see it and i will showcase it.
Lastly i am going to end this video in the same way i ended most update
and dev talk videos, i want to thank the developers for staying active and
bringing good changes.
Also an early access game, if you are playing on the beta, do not expect the
the gameplay to be stable, it is a beta branch meant for play testing and
reporting. If you would like to play in a stable environment, please play on the stable live patches of the game.
I have a video on how to revert to a stable patch, link will be down below
if you wish to change back - https://youtu.be/7G4KvZQeLcs
