DFFOO [GL] Arc 3 Chapter 4 Part 2 - Xande Saga#2 Rundown Remnants Lufenia (Yuna BT, Xande, Aphmau)
Here is an Aphmau / Xande combination showcase, and potentially the start of a Xande Saga.
Xande and Aphmau pair extremely well together, as one of Xande's biggest issues is how long it takes for him to ramp up. Aphmau's LD alleviates this by giving him a ton of turns with her LD buff, which gives her "paired" unit a buff for 4 turns, where they act immediately following Aphmau. This gets Xande a ton of turns, and really allows his EX to start popping off.
Aphmau's LD buff also provides the target increased HP damage - I believe it's 30%, which stacks with Xande's HP damage up that was added with his LD boards.
Xande also helps tick the orb, which requires you to deal 150k of fire damage in one turn. His S1 is a dark and fire move, with 80% splash at 5 stacks of his overhead, which can easily hit over 150k HP between both targets.
Yuna was brought along to help further increase Xande's brv and HP damage via her LD and Burst effect. Stuck her with Ignis call as Aphmau and Xande would be the most active units this battle in terms of turns.
The total HP damage up this comp had was insane, between Gabranth, Kurasame, and Ignis call, plus Yuna's LD and burst effect, and additionally Xande had an extra 50% up hp damage between his selfish 20% HP damage up, and the extra 30% from Aphmau's LD buff.
The biggest difficulty with this fight, especially for Xande, is that they will occasionally use their maelstrom attack, which is a full party cleanse, including any framed buffs. This is devestating for Xande, as his EX recast speed is based on a stacking framed buff, that ticks every time his EX is cast.
To avoid this, I saved all four uses of Aphmau's LD until the second wave, then used a combination of turn swapping with Xande's LD rebreak function to keep them delayed after they take their first turn.
I used Yuna BT around the 70% mark to push the bosses down to the 50% mark, to get to the second orb phase, and try and bypass the maelstrom attack.
At the 30% mark, the bosses will put up a HP damage shield of 800k, meaning that you have to deal 800k of HP damage before they will actually start taking HP damage again. I saved the summon phase, two of Xande's LD's, and three of Yuna's LD just for this phase to burst down these shields.
