DFFOO GL - Freya Lufenia Saga #56 - Reno Lost Chapter COMPLETE
This was a little tighter than expected. The main issue is just dealing with that silly HP requirement at the very end. I had a run with a Sephiroth friend that had an even lower turn count but I just missed the HP requirement as Cor got too many follow-up attacks in before I could heal everyone up. I guess I found Cor's one weakness - he can't stall turns if you need to, since his follow-up means he always HP attacks, so he can KO enemies or pass HP thresholds too early if you're not careful on stages like this.
I ended up going with the Garland friend which ended up being overkill on damage since it led to me having to wait out the mist phase a little bit. I was a little confused by when they cleansed though. I assumed it was whenever they use their recast, but apparently it's not? I ended up sticking with my strategy of bringing Arciela CA and Krile LDCA for my calls as it shuts them down for most of the fight, and I could easily tank the first recast, so it's sort of four turns to not take any damage.
General strategy was to use BTs and summon to get between the first and second thresholds, then Cor LD/Reaper's Gale spam for the third. However my damage suffered for quite a while due to not letting the Hyoro stacks remain level for a while. Also almost let Freya get KO'd as I didn't refresh her shields VS a recast, but I guess placing her RF sphere on Cor worked out here, I tend to place it on a lot of characters just in case of stuff like this. I also somehow messed up the exploit for getting Cor's follow-up buff on both main party members by replacing the active one with a friend unit, so that also hurt the run. Overall it was pretty sloppy and I could have played better, but that's probably due to me getting no sleep and saying "screw it" and getting up at 5 AM because I knew I wasn't going to get any sleep at that point. I'm taking a PTO day off work though so I can feel better, so no worries on that, I'll try nap the rest of the day off. In any event, Freya is pretty good here as she has a 20% HP Regen, and I have Greater Heal summon passives on the party, so her HP Regen just about outpaces the HP Poison. The problem is that only the character who finishes the job can afford to not be at full health if the mist is still up and Cor would finish with a follow-up. Either that or you let if fall off again if you have the turns. In this case, Garland took some HP Poison damage before he left, so I basically needed everyone at full health, so I made sure Freya got the last turn so she could make sure the party was healed to full HP with her AA after the mist was gone, saving the run.
Also this stage was the first "current" Lufenia I did on my JP account. I used Tidus, Setzer, and Leon over there.
There is also big news worth noting - recent JP datamines note that Freya's data has been tampered with, meaning her LD/Lv. 90 is imminent on JP! While it's no guarantee, it's very likely she will show up in the next BT cycle after Laguna's (which is looking to be Ciaran, who I think is a fitting BT cycle for her to show up on, as both characters were designed by Toshiyuki Itahana, and their designs and characters have notable Irish/Celtic influence). So that's as exciting as it is anxiety-inducing. I will probably go dark on the online DFFOO community for a bit as soon as I find out her official release date, as I want to do a video that includes raw reactions to her update before reading up on what her update actually does for her. I'm really hoping she gets the full package with a costume, stickers, Intertwined Wills...and for her specifically, she REALLY needs a default model rework because her model is still the worst in the game IMO. I honestly won't be too fussed about her actual LD if she gets that stuff, since I know I will use her regardless of how her upgrades are, I just want her to feel completely fresh again in some way.
