Fang and Rem is actually quite a deadly pair. They give so much HP dmg up to Fran that her split dmg S2 is now actually doing dmg.

Yes, Fran is synergy here, but arguably her biggest problem was the fact that the distribution of dmg on her S2 was not exactly great when facing multiple targets. You could put even put Setzer in back then and her S2 would still not do that much. Similar to Cid and Prompto EX, she gets very little Brv in between HP dumps but contrary to their EXs, her S2's dmg is not 100% AoE but split. So that severely damaged her DPS there.

Split dmg booster with Daze:
Now Fang has entered the fray putting up a 40% BRV/HP dmg up on the enemies has greatly boost dmg on split dmg moves. Combining with her C88 with a party wide 20% HP dmg up and BRV cap up makes Fran get more BRV in between hits and strictly amplifies her split dmg. On the other hand, Rem's special buff makes it so that she starts with 30% mBRV on each hit with an additional 20% HP dmg up. If my calculations are correct, Rem and Fang collectively gives at least 60% HP dmg up for the party on the buff side and 40% on the debuff side.

Launches:
Split dmg aside, Fang and Rem also makes great launch teams. By applying a Keiss launch dmg refund LDCA + Rem's follow-up battery, you can have pretty much a fully fueled launch party at all times. When we take Fang's Daze debuff into consideration, you can make a full dmg launch without strictly needing Pandemonium and still have great Brv refunds at the end. That of course, would require Rem or any other Brv gain characters to counteract the reduction for this to work. Fang's launches also battery the party now, so even though she only has an average amount of of HP dumps, getting the full HP attacks by other party members with Daze on can still shoot the total dmg to around 500K-800K range depending on the party member. Obviously characters with high HP dmg cap is preferrable, such as Seifer, HP dmg cap increasing BT users like Gilgamesh and Machina.

When her Daze debuff is fixed, I expect her to be a really clutch and valuable CA or partner when it comes to launch abuse (or just overall AoE dmg) during BT phase. Putting a high dmg calibre character such as Machina with full BT phase launches should inflate the dmg by a very large margin, as we have witnessed during the boss rush already.

Disadvantage of using Fang - Careful with who you are partnering with
One thing with Fang is that when you pair her with someone that does a off-turn follow-up like Rem her 3 turn Daze debuff gets depleted twice during Rem's turn. Like Vivi, Rem's follow-up is the type of attack that can still trigger if the primary target dies or the wave is over. Their attack goes off "after" their turn ends technically, so it will count as the target taking damage twice.
If you are using someone like Beatrix however, her immediate follow-up after her own attacks are "on-turn" follow-ups. So those count as one tick. Beatrix's off-turn counter still counts as one tick though.
In general, anyone with an off-turn attack or something like traps will make the count go down a lot faster than usual. That said if boosting said attacks with Daze is exactly what you are setting up for, you are in for a treat.

Another potential problem you would face with Fang is, again, back to the E sphere interaction. There are not exactly a lot of debuff types that you can choose and they are generally generic debuffs that are quite weak compared to what characters in the field can inflict. So if what you choose happens to be something that another character would inflict but with a higher potency, the E sphere debuff would not be applied and that may cause Daze to not appear, since it cannot "overwrite" the existing debuffs. Also, if the generic debuff happens to be one that is resisted by the enemy, then Fang may need to rely on her S1 and LD to inflict Daze instead. So while the E sphere trick makes it so that Fang becomes quite customizable for more opportunities to inflict Daze, you have to be really mindful of the situation that you put her in.

Fun XIII team discussions:
Unironically, Fang, Vanille, Sazh (more BRV/HP dmg up, BRV gain C88) and Raines (for launching) make great partners. Though Vanille, Serah can have a small problem with Fang regarding the E sphere trick.
A special way of playing is that Fang can AoE lock down enemies while Lightning pick them off one by one. Lightning does do AoE dmg every few turns now but 3 turns of Daze should be enough.
Obviously Fang can also help Snow's split dmg preemptive strikes. A 40% boosts make it so that Snow needs less mBRV and overflow or even BRV gain to get to full dmg on multiple targets. Ngl Snow's mBRV kinda sucks lol.
