[DFFOO JP][Ceodore Raid Lufenia+]Ignis gets a rework from "no rework", with Noel and Ashe
Ironically the one that is not listed with a rework gets the most out of a C85 EX extension 2. It fixed 3 main long existing flaws Ignis have and make him self-sufficient in Lufenia+. Once again, we cannot judge what a character gets from a SE showcase.
Took the lazy route and brought Noel on board because my Noel has the Vanille sphere for dispelling. So there is less Ignis screentime.
Boss details:
Orb (Non-lethal): +6/12 Target takes holy damage
Trigger attack is a delaying attack that grants themselves a buff that reduces damage taken and puts a debuff that reduces your damage dealt and increases damage taken onto your party.
The orb ticks down by 2 whenever player acts, but 0 when the boss acts.
The orb trigger attack is also automatically triggered at 29%,49%,79%. Use Lenna CA or Ignis S1 Stance in advance to prevent the debuff from landing. Locke users have to beware that the framed debuff might taken your stolen item slot thus failing your attempt at using the HP+ attack.
Reduction: 50/80 (BRV dmg: BRV )
Most dangerous thing about the boss is the orb attack delaying your party into a lesser version of the AoE orb attack. Breaking your team will result in much greater damage taken, so try to avoid that as much as possible.
The most annoying part of the boss is to manage their buffs and debuff. The orange ALL attack queue means that they are going to make themselves full of buffs, which can be dealt with by using a lot of framed debuffs or a dispeller. The HP dmg taken down buff and HP dmg dealt down debuff coming from the orb attack are quite potent. Therefore I would suggest not brute forcing them. Since there are not a great deal of reduction, you can use CAs instead of a dedicated dispeller and diablos (the summon attack dispels). Diablos also make Ignis battery more with higher iBRV and it tailors to the holy enchant required by the orb as well.
Ignis:
From the showcase, Ignis seems to have been got nothing but a no BRV consumption on EX. In reality, he is probably the character that got the most out of a C85 awakening, maybe even more than Prompto.
Generic stat wise, Ignis got a whooping 80% BRV dmg up and 30% overflow. He also gets a total of self 20% HP dmg up from both of his S1/S2 buffs. His HP regen has doubled as well.
BRV gain and battery:
The first fix is Ignis finally has built-in brave gain (40%) for himself when his EX passive is on. So he can actually survive in Lufenia+ now. On top of that, a lot of his battery potency have been increased. The defensive stance (pastry) in particular, has tripled its battery potency on both BRV / HP attacks. You can see how big the battery gets during the 50%-80% portion.
Reworked BRV/HP attack and EX recharge:
While the names are still the same, the words are now golden, signifying the effects of EX extension II. Regardless of stances, all 4 of the BRV /HP attacks are now free turns and boosts 20% Ex gauge. You can see how much faster his EX recharges compared to before. So as long as it does not blow up the orb or the buffs are intact, spam away.
The pastry path is still iBRV based (300% now!). The HP attack damage refund is now a party-wide battery.
The papa bird path is still mBRV based. It now has 8 BRV hits on BRV attack and 6 x 3 on HP++, with 50% splash as well! While Ignis may not be the greatest in dealing with AoE orbs, he is much easier to be put in a multiple target situation than before with the additional HP dumps and splashes, given they are free turns and spammable.
His EX does not consume his own BRV and has a built-in 50% HP dmg up lol, with an increase of 50% mBRV just before the attack. Combined with the defence stance, he can be quite hard to break, which can be quite handy in this fight when near the HP thresholds.
The C88 is like Serah's. The main use of it is to boost party Brv gain (10%) with a bit of overflow.
Ignis still needs BRV gain up for other party members, but he is much better than before with the dramatic increase in potencies. His turn efficiency has increased drastically with free turns on all kinds of BRV / HP++. Though due to how his skills work and there are multiple buttons to press, using him in tight orbs still require attention. Also, actual BRV hits and HP dumps make him viable in current day Lufenia+. Combined with high turn rate, his damage does stack up nicely if he is in papa bird stance.
Surprisingly all of these fixes are tied to an extension instead of needing to pull for another weapon tier. Hopefully he gets something even better in the next tier to improve his AoE presence further.
Also his EX may not charge other's EXs, but the ping pong between his EX and Ashe's HP+ can lead to a long chain of back and forth turns for curious opportunities depending on who the middle character is.
Got Tidus LD on 1 pull, so stopped pulling and wait for 50 token for his BT instead. No interest in Ceodore though.
