DFFOO [JP][Desch IW] Machina C90 x Kam'lanaut FR Skip Mechanics Edition (Snow BT but no Snow Trick)
Did a speed clear first.
Snow BT+3 is in, but there is no effort made to utilize his break HP dmg cap trick, because frankly, there is absolutely no reason to. The boss is dead already. He is strictly because I don't have Kurasame LDCA, and I needed Machina to launch and deal ice dmg at the same time to make Kam's FT HP bonus % go up.
Gonna post the fight details in the slow version because you don't see anything other than that one bite from the boss anyways lol.
Machina here is at HA+3, BT+3, FL20 with UW+1.
Machina C90 / rework:
Basically he gets two things. LD board rework and EX extension II.
The LD board rework also make his follow-up double dump. So now in the BT phase you are doing 7 ST + 2 AoE dmg now. Also his LD has more dumps now.
The EX extension II makes his EX hit much harder with 4 dumps (+splash). The counter attack also has a HP dump at the end, so it is no longer just a BRV hit.
He also starts with his EX. Though I would say you would still go for the LD startup first. I didn't do it here because I want to let Snow use Seymour's CA to soften the target first before Machina keeps going and going with his dmg.
For anyone who wants to do the Snow trick, he was already very suitable because of his BRV refunding attacks. Now his EX extension II also gives him innate BRV gain, he is much easier to do the trick.
Considering Kam'lanaut FR is now officially approved to be insane and his BT+ gives BRV gain up, Machina and Kam are made to be a good pair. Though you may want to switch to brothers and get some mBRV boosts if you wish to apply the trick, because Kam just does not give party mBRV.
Outside of Snow trick and Kam's BRV gain, Machina still benefits alot from Kam's existence. He can still use his LD follow-up whenever the enemies' turn come up, paralyzed or not. For guaranteed hits, Machina can still EX counter with his new found HP dump.
I only invested FL 20 for Machina because:
1. S1/S2 are not for dmg. S1 is for buffing, stalling and instant turn rates.
2. No one uses S1/S2 inside of FT anyways. Those extra HP bonuses are wasted.
Since his LD, its follow-up and also EX counter, its follow-up are the main source of dmg and updates, it makes sense for me to just get to FL20. After all you still get the 10% for his normal HP+ attack from FL5 when the FG is at 80%+.
Machina can 100% get to 99mil with only launch inside Kam's FR without external follow-up from someone else because:
1. Had the other boss did not die earlier, the dmg will go up
2. If I burst one turn earlier, then the BT+ finisher is 10mil on each at least on the last turn. That means 20m more already.
3. I needed Snow because no party ice enchanter. In theory people will sub in another HP dmg cap up character to boost the dmg further.
An earlier run where I BT on the second turn, Machina with less HP dmg bonus could already get to 82mil. He still wiped the bosses with the BT finisher though even though there were FT turns left.
Other than for your own pleasure, I just did not bother chasing for the 99mil with perfect timing. Machina BT+ w Kam FR is simply too strong for early Shinryu stages, especially an IW. (famous last words)
Gonna do a normal, slower run that somewhat respect the mechanics later. Kinda busy and wanted to see Machina's dmg so I speed cleared it first.
