DFFOO [JP][Act 3 Chapter 8 Part 1] Braska spamming Curaga in Kain's FT with Auron / Ramza fd
21Not gonna lie, Braska's speed charging and HP bonus is pretty sick, and it works well even if the FT is not his.
The FL investment of the team are as follows:
Kain: 20
Auron: 20
Braska: 30
So in theory the FG charging can go even faster, but as you can see with 3 characters that has FL investment and Braska speed charging by spamming Curaga, you can get an initial advantage of around 1 bar ahead of the floating eyes.
The curaga spam is quite sustainable since EX usage gives free skills, and once the overdrive bar gets to 5, a free EX+ spawns automatically, which in turns grant more Curaga uses and EX charges. It is somewhat a self feedback loop.
In case people didn't see the additional notes from the previous one or haven't discover this, there is practically no concern for withholding any free skill uses even when the overdrive bar is at 5, since it will reset to 1 and continues to build up while retaining the +version of both LD and EX. So spam away.
Just like any non-attack moves, the FL investment gives additional FG build up and FT HP bonus up to 50% (similar to Krile's S1). Obviously if it is said character's FR triggering, then the HP bonus should get even higher. Though 50% is substantial enough that it is still worth spamming in the initial HP bonus build up. As you can see this FT burned through 60% of the boss HP.
In theory throwing this team in Krile's IW would yield better result because I could just use Braska FR instead and have a much higher HP% build-up with Ifrit's blessing, but I wanted to see the effectiveness of this kind of characters (not just Braska) in other people's FR, so I chose this instead.
Imo Braska out of synergy still performs pretty well. Ultima is just a filler, so as underwhelming as it is, the main focus of Braska is just to get as many Curagas and EX as much as possible. Since his EX is 100% AoE, it is actually not bad, particularly when you fast charge the FG to above 80% such that you get additional HP dmg cap.
Since he batteries very frequently (not just with Curaga), I would say it is best if you pair him with some BRV gain up character. Regrettably the first batch of FR does not have any.
Auron is simply quite insane pretty much everywhere, unless it is a 3 target environment with not much support aura or CAs. So far there has been quite a fair amount of attacks that cannot be dodged, so I assume he will see quite a bit of good use moving forward. (unless Gladio immediately resurfaces lol, then there could be some contest, especially when he is immune to debuffs when LD buff is on)
